SpotSaver Mat
DESCRIPTION:
Atlas Die knows that the traditional make-ready process wastes profitable time. The painstaking technique, called "spotting up", requires raising low knife spots to match higher ones. The name refers to a spot sheet behind a die or under the cutting plate that is patched to produce matching knife heights. Cutting with consistently even knife heights produces nearly 100% cutting accuracy - and increases profits!
Atlas Die's SpotSaver™ system reduces costly preparation time. Contrary to the outdated method, the higher knives are lowered and - with balanced pressure - the SpotSaver™ mat system levels the cutting knives, increasing their cutting accuracy. The system presents a huge advantage for short runs and frequent make readies. Cutting can be brought up to the 90-95% range which will reduce your overall make-ready time by reducing overall setup.
FEATURES:
Atlas Die's long-life SpotSaver™ is reusable. Its "memory" allows it to be adapted from press to press - and from job to job. SpotSaver™'s impressions are deeper. You'll achieve more pronounced creasing or scoring. Cleaner finishes are possible on cut scores and fifty-percent cuts with traditional spot-up. SpotSaver™ positioning is simple. The mat is attached to the back of the chase plate, under the cutting plate, or directly over the spot sheet. The spot sheet allows for a combination make-ready option. According to testing conducted by Atlas Die, the SpotSaver eliminates 2/3 to 3/4 of all spot-up make-ready time.
